Well, my family came to Anderson yesterday after my son Devin's birthday party so that we could attend a memorial/Celebration of life for my cousin Dean who was killed by a car. We got into town Saturday night and ate at Ponderosa for dinner. Of course all of my kids love Ponderosa because they get to eat as much as they want. It was good and they all ate well.
Today I woke up to my boys arguing over cars. My dad was watching them and letting me sleep longer since I don't normally get to, but I still had to get up. My mom took the girl scout girls to a pretzel making thing this morning so Kenzi was gone. I got the boys to stop arguing and then started looking up stuff on the internet because I got a text message about storms. At 11am I told Jarred that I wouldn't be driving home today in this weather.
At 1:30 we headed to the Celebration of Life for Dean Carter, my cousin. It was a nice memorial and one that will help many with the closer they normal get once there is a death in the family. Deano will be missed tremendously, but will always be in our hearts. My little sister and I sang at the memorial and it turned out okay. I miss Dean like crazy and still can't believe that he is gone, but I know he is with God and he is able to see and watch over us now.
At around 2:50 or so I was informed by three different people that a tornado touched down in Lebanon and wondered if we were alright. I have been in Anderson so I was glad I wasn't around for that weather, but I was scared for Jarred who is home by his self and I know how he is. However, this time he did go to the bathroom like he is suppose to, but he was safe and sound. The storms have now passed, but we are still at my parents house.
In the morning I will be driving to work from Anderson with all of the kids. I hope that Jarred doesn't forget anything in the morning!
I hope that all of you are safe and sound enjoying your time together. Be safe!

Already Starting
This year I have a kid in 9th grade, one in 1st, one in kindergarten, and then a preschooler. I can't believe how fast they are growing.
Skyler seems to be enjoying his time as a freshman in high school. He continues to learn more and more each day as well as getting involved. He is in the band and has done a great job, but he is also on the Spell Bowl team like he was at the middle school. He is a great student!
Kenzi is in the first grade and loves school still. She has gotten way more bossy and is getting to the point of where she wants to do what she wants instead of what we want. She is very bossy with her brothers and sometimes it is funny because they will tell her no. Recently she has started the stage of not listening to anything we say so she gets in trouble a lot also. I think as she gets older she is going to be harder because she is so cute!
Devin is the one that is "already starting". He is our kindergarten student who seems to enjoy school, but can be a pain sometimes. In the morning he is a pain because he doesn't want to be awake and that means he doesn't want to do what he is told at all. Today he decided that he didn't want to get in trouble for being "off task" at school. When he colored his chart it was green, but then decided to try hiding it and colored over it with blue. It was crazy that he is only in kindergarten and has already started changing things from school. I hope he doesn't do it again, but who knows!
Landon is in preschool at the same school with Kenzi and Devin. He only goes three times a week for half a day and he seems to enjoy it. He has only gotten in trouble a couple times so I think that he is enjoying it. I hope that when he goes to kindergarten next year he does okay.
Jarred and I are busy of course, but he has been especially busy because I have been attending an Autism conference in Bloomington. I was there Oct. 10 and 11th and it was such a good conference with great information. I go back for the 3rd and 4th days on Nov. 7 and 8. Then have the last two days in february. I enjoyed the conference! Jarred of course was taking care of the kids during that time so I am sure he had his hands full.
This week we start fall break on Friday and then also no school on Monday for fall break also. I am looking forward to those two extra days of home time. Hopefully I can enjoy some quilting time since I will have four of them reading to be quilted soon.
I can't believe it has been such a long time since I have update this. Hopefully in the future it won't be such a long time.

It's been a while I know
Well I am still traveling with the delegation. Today they went to their home stay families and the leaders are at a hotel. They didn't have families for us. We have three nights here and then we go to Barcelona for a night followed by Zaragoza for a night and lastly Madrid for a night. I am excited to be almost done because I am so homesick. I miss my husband and my kids. I also miss my church family and all my family and friends. Tomorrow will be a beach day for us hopefully here in Mataro, Spain. Later!

Day 6
Today we saw the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I was kind of disappointed, but it was neat to see. We also had to wait for a new bus because our bus had an engine light come on. We were at the rest stop for 3hrs and 15 mins.
Day 5 in Italy: Full On Experience
Oh my goodness! Today has been an amazing and crazy day. We went back to Assisi today for in full on experience which included $ down a castle wall and breaking a board. This was so cool!
My group, Razz Matazz, headed straight to the tower to $ down. It was such a hike and was kind of hard to get there. Once there our guide spoke with us about some things and took us to get our harness and helmet. Once we had theses we headed to inside the tower wall and did an activity to show is how yo put them on. Once they were on we started to climb the 160 stairs to the top of the tower. Once at the almost top he stopped to demonstrate what we were going to do while going down the castle tower wall. He then had all scarred delegates and leaders go to the front of the line to climb up the last flight of stairs.
I got up there and then started to freak out. I got harnessed up and climbed under the rope to the side where I needed to lean backwards and start walking down this tower wall. This was crazy! I asked the older gentlemen how high it was and he said it was 100feet high, 10 stories! I was like "are you crazy?" He finally talked me into going over the edge and I headed down the tier wall. I was so scarred. I even asked questions about weight limit or my head bring too big for the helmet to try getting out of it but nothing worked and I was walking down the wall.
I started out very slowly and gradually walked a little faster and even kind of jumped once. It was really pretty when you looked out because you could see do much. I did make it to the ground in one piece and it was an AWESOME experience that I was able to have in Assisi, Italy on June 28th, 2013!
After the tower wall we headed to the ice cream store and was taught how to order in Italian. I said I wanted a grande cono ciccolato. Gelato is do GOOD here, that is what the ice cream is called. We then played a game before heading to the field. In the field we started playing a game but then the rain came and we had to get back to the building.
The last really best group activity was breaking a board with our bare hands. This was hard, but inbred third try I finally got it and broke it. This was a great day and it will never be forgotten.
4th day in Italy
Oh my! Today was a great day because we got to sleep in until 8:30. We then headed out to Perugia for lunch. We walked through Perugia to lunch and it was tough. We then went to a Montessori in Assisi, Italy where a Friar (not a monk) talked to us. We had free time there and the view was spectacular. For dinner we went back to Perugia and then to our hotel. I am tired!

3rd day but only 2nd in Roma
Today we got up early so we could go to Vatican City. This place is pretty neat, it's a country/city in a country/city. It is located in Rome but it really isn't part of Roma. They have their own laws and rules. It is only about 105 yards big and has a wall that is built around it to keep people out, how crazy! In order to go through it you purchase a ticket into the city/country. We went to the Sistine Chapel and that place is really neat. We were suppose to go in the Basilica but can't because the pope is in there today.
Oh my goodness, I tried a mussel at lunch today. Evan, Paige, and Faith were all yelling to tell me to try it so I did. It was disgusting! That was at lunch so I did get pizza and watermelon though. Did you know: pizza margarita here means cheese pizza? I didn't until today.
Next we got to go on the Italian Metro to go to a place for our City Quest. This gave the delegates time to see the small city, but also to have some fun. We also got ice cream which the delegates can't stop talking about. After the city quest we had some shopping time and then headed back to the hotel for dome leisure time. Tomorrow we are going to Asissi and will be doing our service project with physically and mentally challenged children. I am so excited, this is right up my ally!

The beginning of the journey
So far it has been interesting. I arrived at the airport around 5:15am in order to get there before the delegates. I made it alright and even had my first delegate show up right after I did. I only have six, but a couple of minutes later I had a parent cone over and tell me that her daughter fell down the escalator. That is how it began! Getting out the first aid kit was crazy considering I had only been at the airport for like 10 mins, but hey things happen right. Next I had a delegate forget the lanyard and ID tag so I had to search my bag for that after I finally got checked in. Then another parent said their don forgot his journal. So he bought a notepad at the airport. The first incident turned into the girl in a wheelchair while at the airport and then walking into the plane. Hopefully get foot will heal quickly and there won't be any other issues.
We are on the plane to Atlanta, GA now and will arrive in about 15 mins. It's nice that this plane has free wi-first on board! Now we are eating at TGIF!
There's the update for today. More later!
It wouldn't post when wrote so now I'm adding to it. We landed in Rome this morning and started our journey. We went to see the Collesium. It was really neat. Tomorrow is another full day so I'm going to bed.

Bon voyage
Well today was my Bon voyage party with my people to people delegation. We went to Buca do Beppo with each delegates family present. It was a lot of fun. One of my delegates dads even got me to try Calamari and it honestly wasn't bad. I also tried eggplant and I think I would rather have calamari. I leave in 4 days and I am excited! I have such a great group of students to travel with. Of course I will miss my lovely family! I know have this blogger app on my iPod so I will hopefully be able to blog while overseas. Of course that will depend on Internet services which is honestly horrible in Europe. Well goodnight and I will be back soon!
By the way my whole family went to Buca and the kids did a wonderful job. Devin was so outgoing and welcoming, he fit right in!

5 Days and counting
As of now I have 5 days until I leave the country on my people to people trip to Spain, Italy, and France. I have a great group of delegates and can't wait for us to start our traveling times. I have so much to do and so little time to get it done in. I have some packing to do and probably should make sure I have everything I need together before Sunday night.
Tomorrow is our Bon Voyage party at Buca di Beppo! I know that the families are excited and nervous at the same time, but it will be a blast!
Jarred will be home with the kids and I can't wait to hear what happens while I am gone. So far I have made meatloaf for dinner and froze one and also made a lasagne to freeze. They will have a little bit of food to eat!
Stay tuned for more from me!

Summer Break 2013!
It's so crazy, but summer break is here! It seems like we just started the 2012-2013 school year, but yet we are done. I have one student who is leaving me this year and he is going to be missed greatly.
The graduation ceremony for all of the students is June 1st starting at 10am. I am so excited to see this class of student graduate. There are so many fabulous students that people are going to miss. CONGRATULATIONS to all who are GRADUATING!
Jarred and I started off our summer break going for a date night. My parents have our kids because they kept them for the teacher day that we had to attend. We went off and ate dinner out at Chili's (my first time eating there) and then went to see a movie, The Great Gatsby. It was great to have that time together to enjoy our first day!
Now that summer has begun we have a lot that we would like to do before heading back to school in August. Some of the things we would like to do include taking the kids to the Indianapolis Zoo, Columbian Park Zoo, Children's Museum, Conner Prairie, and possibly going to Chicago for a quick vacation trip. We are also planning on going to Kings Island with my family sometime this summer. That will be interesting and a lot of fun!
I leave on June 24th and will be heading to Italy, France, and Spain for almost three months. I am exciting for this new journey of mine. I have a great group of 6 students that will be going over with me. They are all high school students from around Indiana. We will be meeting up with three other delegations!
Summer has begun and I am ready for everything that is ahead! I am sitting here writing this because of the stupid storm that woke me up at 1:55am! Maybe sleep will come soon. More to come later this summer!

End of School Year
Oh my! It has been such a long time since I have actually posted a blog that I don't know where to start.
The kids are doing great!
Skyler is getting ready to graduate from the middle school and enter the high school as a freshman next year. He has a lot that he is going to be doing and will hopefully be joining many clubs or some other activities at the high school. He has had straight A's all school year so far and we are hoping that continues with his last report card. The end of the school year is coming!
Kenzi is finishing up her first year in school. As a kindergartener she has learned so much. She started and didn't know how to read and now she reads everything. She is great with sounding out words and spelling new words. She loves school! She also has been doing so much with math. She started multiplying in kindergarten, that is CRAZY!
Devin is ready to start school and will next year. In the last three weeks or so he has lost his front two teeth. He ever pulled them himself, at five that is amazing. Devin loves counting and when asked he says "I can count to 2800 mommy did you know that?" It is so funny. He is also ready for summer vacation and being able to stay home with us.
Landon has been crazy about learning. He has also been a handful because he likes to pick on his brother. Sometimes it is very funny! Landon still says the craziest things and its fun to just sit and listen to him. He will hopefully be starting a developmental preschool as a peer student next year for a half day. He is really looking forward to that possibility.
We have been really busy already because I decided to quite coaching softball and to put my kids in sports. Devin and Kenzi have been lucky enough to join a team here in our town. Devin is on t-ball baseball and Kenzi is on the t-ball softball team. They have games on Saturday's and practices during the week. This keeps us pretty busy, but it is so much fun. Landon was to young to join the baseball/softball teams, but was old enough to be on a soccer team in Frankfort. He usually has games on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday's. These practices and games for each kid has kept us very busy. The last two weekends each kid has had a game.
Landon's first soccer game! He wasn't so sure about it, but did an okay job.
Kenzi at her first softball game up to bat. She had to use the tee, but she does pretty good.
Devin got to play catcher at his game May 18th. He really liked playing catcher!
Jarred and I are getting ready to end another year of school. The last day is on May 30th and we are ready! The students are ready and are starting to shut down also. I have loved this year, but it has gone way to fast. I have one student graduating and he is going to be missed because he is such a great student. After this school year ends Jarred and I are going to stay home and have some summer fun with the kids.
This summer Skyler will be on the marching band team for the high school and has some band camps he must attend. Kenzi has also decided to go to enrichment summer school and learn about some new things around the same time that Skyler is in marching band. I think both of these will be great activities for the kids to do. I can't wait until Devin and Landon have the same opportunities as the others do.
Recently we have been lucky enough to pay off one school loan finally! That was great and I can't wait until they are all paid off. We are hoping to start building a retaining wall for our patio and will put the patio furniture back on there once that is done. Hopefully it will be done before I leave the country. On June 24th I will be leaving again to travel to Europe with People to People Student Ambassadors as a Leader. I am taking a group of 8 students overseas. We are excited to leave! I don't like to leave the kids so long, but I think it will be great to be in Europe again.
I think I have caught you up and will hopefully continue writing when I remember!

Disney Vacation over Christmas Break 2012
Wow did we have a fantastic Christmas Break! We had our normal Christmas present opening here at home and then went to Anderson to be with my side of the family. We opened gifts, hung out, and ate dinner. On the 26th we didn't do much at all, but it was a relaxing day. Then on the 27th Jarred, me, my dad, my mom, and my three little kids left four our journey to Florida at 3am. It was such a long trip. We started out with the boys with us and Kenzi with my parents in the van. We drove until we got to Louisville, KY and then stopped to eat breakfast at Lynn's Paradise Cafe. It was a neat looking place. We then left and continued our journey south towards Orlando, Florida.
We stopped in Georgia and stayed in a hotel room for the night. On the 28th we got up and continued our journey to Florida. We finally arrived around 6pm and was able to check in quickly at the La Quinta Hotel in Orlando, FL. It was a very nice hotel. We went to bed and got up at 6am the next day to begin our Disney World Vacation!!!
On Dec. 29th, Jarred 29th Birthday, we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom. We got there around 8am and was there until around 3:30pm. There was quite a bit to do also. The neat thing was the Tree of Life in the middle of the grounds. The neatest ride was the Animal Safari where we got to see all these animals roaming around the grounds, not in cages. We had a good time there. We got to see a Lion King show also. Both Devin and Landon were asked to go out on the floor and got to dance with the actresses and actors in the musical on the floor. It was so cute to see them there. We also went to see the Nemo Musical and sat in the bubble area.
On Dec. 30th we went to Epcot to see Skyler march with the band. We arrived a little late because my mom wanted a hot breakfast. We stayed and watched the band, but we also visited many different characters throughout the park. The first character was Goofy. Then we saw Daisy, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Pluto. The kids loved seeing the different characters and even taking pictures with them. We went on the ride inside the ball and a few others also. Then we went around the world exhibit areas. They were neat, but not much to do for the kids. We left around 2:30 or so.
On New Year's Eve Dec. 31st we got up early again and arrived at Disney's Hollywood Studios around 8am. The first thing we did was go to the Tower of Terror ride. Devin and Kenzi were tall enough to ride so Jarred, Devin, Kenzi, and I wanted in line for the ride. Once we were on it we had a blast. Devin was so scarred and Kenzi enjoyed it. The picture is priceless. We then went around and got to see many more characters and rode more rides. One thing that the kids enjoyed was the Honey I Shrunk the Kids area. It was basically a playground area and everything looked like it was dirt, corn, and other things in the grass. It was neat. We also watched the stunt show where the kids got to see Lightning McQueen come out. It was a great day.
On New Year's Day Jan. 1, 2013 we got up the earliest that we had so that we could get to Disney's Magic Kingdom really early. We ended up arriving before it even opened and got to see some dancing and Mickey Mouse. Once we got in we just started going around to the different rides and started in Tomorrowland. It was really neat. One of the neatest rides was the People Mover because you got to see all rides in the area you were in. The kids also got to see the inside of Space Mountain, since they are to small to actually ride it. We went to Fantasyland next and did some things there. We went all around the park and even had a chance to enjoy the parade. This was the best park and we did so much here that it is hard to tell you everything we did.
On Jan. 2, 2013, Landon turned four and we decided to go to the beach and celebrate his birthday with a picnic and playing in the water. Landon loved the sand, but was a little afraid of the water and waves. He chose McDonalds for dinner so we ate at this neat McDonalds. It had a game room upstairs and a huge playground inside also. It was neat and he had a lot of fun. We had fun and he got cupcakes and to open presents later.
On Jan. 3, 2013 we took Landon on a ride in a helicopter for his birthday. He LOVED it!!!! We then went to the Ripley's Believe it Or Not museum there in Orlando. That was a neat place to see and the kids even enjoyed it.
On Jan. 4, 2013 we left to head home. After all of the stuff we did we were all so tired!!!! It was a great vacation, but we were so tired when we finally got home. It's almost as if we needed a vacation from the vacation.
We stopped in Georgia and stayed in a hotel room for the night. On the 28th we got up and continued our journey to Florida. We finally arrived around 6pm and was able to check in quickly at the La Quinta Hotel in Orlando, FL. It was a very nice hotel.
